Cathy Brice Hirsch President/Treasurer/Director Within Reach is operated by its founder, Cathy Brice Hirsch. Ms. Hirsch is a peer support counselor and the Maryland State Trainer for the American Cancer Society’s Reach to Recovery program. She is a member of the International Advisory Committee of Reach to Recovery International, and she serves as a Stakeholder on an American Cancer Society research grant review committee. Ms. Hirsch is an attorney and a breast cancer survivor. |

David J. Hirsch Vice President/Director The Vice President of Within Reach, David J. Hirsch, is a principal in the law firm of Shiling, Bloch, & Hirsch, PA. Mr. Hirsch’s practice focuses on corporate and business law as well as trusts and estates. |

Karen A. DeSantis Secretary/Director Karen A. DeSantis, the Secretary of Within Reach, is a former First Vice President of MBNA America Bank and is currently the Administration Manager for Ripken Baseball, Inc. |

Rita Shemer Director Rita Shemer, a long-term survivor of breast cancer, is a patient/volunteer coordinator for the Reach to Recovery program. She is the Director of Helping Hands, a program of the Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation, Inc., that provides wigs and other head coverings at no cost to persons undergoing treatment for cancer. Mrs. Shemer is a Past President of the Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation. |

Gwen M. Hirsch Director Gwen Hirsch, a business entrepreneur and the mother of two teenage boys, volunteers tirelessly for several organizations that raise funds for, and award grants to, organizations that fight cancer. |
